This is a chapter providing for the regulation and control of
the subdivision of lots and the development of land; the approval
of plans, plots or replots of land laid out in building lots; standards
for the design of streets, lots, easements, blocks and other improvements;
minimum improvements and construction standards on all streets and
required dedications; the administration of this chapter and penalties
for the violation of this chapter.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "The Borough
of Stockertown Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance of 2002"
and may be referred to as "SALDO."
These regulations are adopted to create conditions favorable
to the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the citizens
by:
A. Assuring sites suitable for building purposes and human habitation.
B. Providing for the harmonious development of the Borough.
C. Assuring coordination of existing streets and highways with proposed
streets, parks or other features of the official street plan of the
Borough.
D. To provide for adequate open spaces for traffic, recreation, light
and air and for proper distribution of population.
E. Assuring equitable and just processing of subdivision plans by providing
uniform procedures and standards for the observance of both the subdivider
and Borough officials.
