Trash & Recycling
Working together to keep Stockertown clean, safe, and environmentally healthy.
Stockertown Borough provides weekly trash collection and encourages responsible recycling practices to help maintain a clean community and reduce landfill waste. This page offers general guidance for residents. Additional details will be added as programs and schedules are finalized.
Trash Collection
- Residential trash is collected once per week.
- Please place all trash in containers provided for you by the Borough. Place cans by the curb facing the street as shown in the picture.
- Set trash out the night before or by early morning on collection day.
- Containers should be placed curbside in a visible, accessible location.
Bulk Items
One bulk item per week will be picked up on collection day as needed.
For larger or multiple items, please contact the office for a special pick-up.
Recycling
Recycling helps reduce waste and supports a healthier environment. Residents are encouraged to recycle commonly accepted materials:
- Cardboard and paper
- Plastic bottles and containers (#1–#2 plastics are most commonly accepted)
- Glass bottles and jars
- Aluminum and metal cans
Please rinse containers and remove food residue before recycling.
Items Not Accepted in Curbside Recycling
- Plastic bags
- Styrofoam
- Electronics
- Hazardous materials
- Scrap metal
These items require special disposal methods and should not be placed in recycling bins.
Yard Waste & Seasonal Programs
Information on leaf collection, brush drop‑off, and seasonal yard waste programs will be posted when available.
Residents should not dispose of yard waste in regular trash or recycling containers.
Illegal Dumping
Dumping trash, yard waste, or construction debris on Borough property or in wooded areas is prohibited.
Violations may result in fines.
